Painting with Everyday Objects: Creative Play in Brighton
Put the paintbrush aside and discover just how many different effects can be created using everyday objects.
In this playful and experimental workshop, you’ll explore a wide range of tools and materials to create marks, textures, patterns, and unexpected effects. From simple household items to unusual objects, you’ll discover how different shapes, surfaces, and materials interact with paint.
We’ll begin with a series of creative experiments on practice paper, giving you the freedom to try lots of techniques and combinations without worrying about the final result. Along the way, you’ll explore how colour choices, layering, and different painting methods can dramatically change the look and feel of your work.
Once you’ve discovered the effects and techniques you enjoy most, you’ll use your favourites to create a larger finished artwork that brings together your experiments into a cohesive piece.
This session is perfect for beginners, curious creatives, and anyone who enjoys playing with materials and discovering new ways to make art. You’ll leave with your finished artwork, a collection of experimental samples, and plenty of ideas to continue exploring at home.
