Paint and Embroider your own Tote Bag in Brighton

Create a beautiful, practical tote bag that’s completely your own in this relaxed, beginner-friendly mixed media workshop. Combining fabric painting and simple hand embroidery, you’ll design a unique bag that reflects your personal style while learning creative techniques you can use again and again.
You’ll begin by exploring colour, pattern, and mark-making using a range of fabric paints, sprays, and tools. Whether you prefer bold graphic shapes, soft layered textures, or more delicate decorative details, you’ll be guided through different approaches to help you develop your design with confidence.
Once your painted base is complete, you’ll move on to adding texture and interest with hand embroidery. You’ll learn a selection of easy, beginner-friendly stitches that can be used to outline, embellish, or completely transform your design. This combination of paint and stitch creates a rich, tactile finish that makes each bag truly one of a kind.
Throughout the session, there will be plenty of inspiration, examples, and one-to-one guidance, so no previous experience in sewing, embroidery, or painting is needed. This workshop is designed to be relaxed, supportive, and enjoyable, whether you’re trying something new or building on existing creative skills.
All materials are provided, including your tote bag, paints, threads, and tools. You’ll leave with a finished, functional piece that you can use every day — as well as the skills, ideas, and confidence to continue creating your own textile projects at home.
Perfect for anyone who enjoys making, exploring new techniques, or taking time out for a mindful, creative experience.
