Make Your Own Halloween Gonk – Creative Craft Workshop
Get into the spooky spirit and create your very own Halloween Gonk – a quirky little character with plenty of personality!
In this fun, hands-on workshop, you’ll build and decorate your own Halloween-themed gonk using a selection of fabrics, fibres and decorative details. First, you’ll create the body of your gonk and begin bringing your character to life. Next, you’ll add its distinctive hat, nose and other features. Then, it’s time to give your gonk a magnificent beard, plaits or another wonderfully wild hairstyle.
Once the basic character is complete, you can start adding the details that make it uniquely yours. Choose from Halloween-inspired colours and embellishments, then add bats, spiders, pumpkins, stars, cobwebs or other spooky decorations. Whether you create a friendly witch, a mischievous pumpkin-loving gonk or something altogether more mysterious, there will be plenty of opportunity to experiment.
Along the way, we’ll demonstrate the techniques and help you with each stage. However, there’s no need to follow our example exactly. Instead, you can play with different materials, colours and ideas to create a Halloween character with its own personality.
You’ll learn how to:
- Build and shape the body of your gonk
- Create its distinctive hat and characterful features
- Work with fabrics, fibres and decorative materials
- Add Halloween-inspired embellishments and finishing touches
- Adapt the design to create a character that’s entirely your own
No previous crafting experience is needed. As you work, you’ll have guidance and support whenever you need it, while still having plenty of freedom to make your own creative choices.
Finally, you’ll add those all-important finishing touches before taking your Halloween Gonk home. As a result, you’ll have a wonderfully quirky handmade decoration to bring out for Halloween year after year.
All materials are included, along with drinks and snacks from the gallery.
