Hand-Stitched Christmas Felt Decorations

Spend some time making by hand this Christmas and create a collection of beautiful felt decorations for your tree or home.

During this relaxed Christmas workshop, you’ll learn how to turn simple pieces of felt into charming handmade decorations. Choose from a selection of festive designs, such as stars, trees, houses, birds, hearts and traditional Christmas characters. Alternatively, use the techniques we explore to develop a design of your own.

Explore Simple Hand-Stitching Techniques

We’ll show you how to cut, layer and join felt before introducing simple hand stitches for construction and decoration. You can then experiment with embroidery thread, buttons, beads, ribbons and other embellishments.

You might choose a traditional Christmas colour palette or opt for something more contemporary. As a result, your finished decorations can easily complement your own festive style.

Decorations to Bring Out Every Christmas

Once you have mastered the basic techniques, you can create several different designs during the session. We’ll also show you how to add stuffing where appropriate and finish your decorations with hanging loops or ribbons.

Your finished felt decorations will be ready to take home and add to your Christmas tree. They also make lovely handmade gifts.

No previous sewing experience is needed, as we’ll guide you through the techniques step by step.

All materials, tools and festive refreshments are included.

All workshops are beginner-friendly unless stated otherwise, and we provide all the materials you need. Adult sessions are for ages 16+, teen classes for ages 11–16, and family workshops for ages 7+ with an accompanying adult. Everything you create is yours to take home.
