Ebru Marbling – Creative Play Session for Adults

Discover the mesmerising art of Ebru, the traditional Turkish technique of painting on water.

In this relaxing 90-minute creative play session, you’ll learn how to float paints on a specially prepared water surface before using simple tools to create colourful swirls, patterns and designs. Once you’re happy with your artwork, you’ll transfer the design onto paper to create a one-of-a-kind print.

Part science, part art and completely fascinating, Ebru is a wonderfully mindful process full of happy surprises. No two prints are ever the same.

You’ll explore:

• The history and traditions of Ebru marbling
• Creating patterns on water
• Using combs, styluses and other simple tools
• Experimenting with colour and movement
• Transferring designs onto paper

You’ll take home:

A collection of unique marbled papers that can be framed, used for cards, bookbinding, collage, journaling or future creative projects.

If you have food preferences or accessibility needs, please tell us in advance so we can make your visit as smooth as possible.

All workshops are beginner-friendly unless stated otherwise, and we provide all the materials you need. Adult sessions are for ages 16+, teen classes for ages 11–16, and family workshops for ages 7+ with an accompanying adult. Everything you create is yours to take home.
