Create a Needle Felted Animal Workshop in Brighton

Discover the fascinating art of needle felting and learn how to transform soft wool fibres into a unique three-dimensional animal sculpture.

This full-day workshop is perfect for beginners and those looking to build confidence in needle felting. You’ll start by learning about the different types of wool, specialist felting needles and the tools used to create structure, shape and detail.

First, you’ll explore the basics of needle felting through a series of simple exercises designed to help you understand how wool behaves and how forms are created. Next, you’ll learn how to build and shape the core elements of an animal, including the body, head, legs and other features. Finally, you’ll put your new skills into practice by creating your own animal sculpture, adding character, colour and finishing details as you go.

Whether you choose to create a woodland creature, favourite pet, farm animal or something entirely from your imagination, you’ll leave with a finished piece and the confidence to continue felting at home.

You’ll learn how to:

• Select and work with different types of felting wool
• Use felting needles and tools safely
• Build simple 3D shapes and structures
• Construct animal body parts and join them together
• Add colour, texture and detail
• Create a finished three-dimensional animal sculpture

This workshop is suitable for complete beginners as well as those with some felting experience who would like to develop their 3D sculpting skills.

All workshops are beginner-friendly unless stated otherwise, and we provide all the materials you need. Adult sessions are for ages 16+, teen classes for ages 11–16, and family workshops for ages 7+ with an accompanying adult. Everything you create is yours to take home.
