Continuing with Zentangle: Brighton Workshop

Ready to take your Zentangle practice a little further? Continuing with Zentangle builds on the techniques learned in our Introduction to Zentangle workshop. It gives you the chance to explore new patterns, different tile shapes and more ways to use tangles creatively.

This is a follow-on workshop. To attend, you must have completed one of our Introduction to Zentangle workshops within the last two years.

Explore Different Tile Shapes

In your introductory workshop, you learned the foundations of the Zentangle Method using traditional tiles. Now we’ll start to explore what happens when we work with different shapes and formats.

You’ll discover how the shape of a tile can influence your design. Along the way, we’ll introduce a few new tangles and explore different ways to combine patterns and create interesting compositions.

Create Borders and Edge Patterns

During the session, you’ll learn how to build repeating edge patterns that can surround a tile or frame a piece of artwork.

Continue Your Zentangle Practice

Most importantly, this workshop gives you time to build on what you already know.

You’ll have more freedom to experiment with scale, direction, pattern combinations and composition while continuing to enjoy the mindful nature of the Zentangle Method.

The emphasis remains on slowing down, enjoying the process and creating one deliberate stroke at a time.

What to Bring

Please bring the Zentangle kit you received at your Introduction to Zentangle workshop, including your pens and other reusable tools.

If you forget your kit, you will still be able to take part. We can provide equipment for you to use during the workshop; however, these items will need to remain at the studio at the end of the session.

Any new tiles and consumable materials needed for the workshop will be provided.

Please note: This workshop is only suitable for people who have attended one of our Introduction to Zentangle workshops within the previous two years.
