Brighton Coastal Driftwood Workshop

Craft your own coastal keepsake using beautiful pieces of driftwood collected from Brighton’s beaches. In this hands-on upcycling workshop, you can choose to create a charming driftwood boat, a quirky driftwood bird or fish sculpture, a colourful driftwood house or village, or a combination of all of these.

We’ll provide a selection of raw materials, along with inspiring examples and images to spark your creativity. Then it’s over to you! You’ll start from scratch, learning how to:

• Prepare your driftwood pieces

• Sand and shape them

• Drill, hammer, and bolt components together

• Add painted details and assemble your final creation

No two pieces will be the same — whether you go for a rustic sailboat or a characterful bird, you’ll head home with a unique handmade artwork and the skills to keep crafting with found materials.

All tools and materials are provided. No experience necessary — just bring your imagination and a love for the seaside!

Cancel up to 7 days in advance via the website for a full refund. We cannot offer refunds after that point, for missed sessions, or for arrivals more than 20 minutes late. If you have food preferences or accessibility needs, please tell us in advance so we can make your visit as smooth as possible.

All workshops are beginner-friendly unless stated otherwise, and we provide all the materials you need. Adult sessions are for ages 16+, teen classes for ages 11–16, and family workshops for ages 7+ with an accompanying adult. Everything you create is yours to take home.
