Christmas Wooden Dolls Workshop (kids)

Celebrate the season with a creative workshop that is both relaxing and festive. During this 2-hour class, you will design, paint, and decorate your very own set of 4–6 wooden peg dolls. Each doll can be transformed into a Christmas character of your choice, allowing you to create a set that feels personal and unique.

You might decide to make a traditional nativity family, complete with shepherds, angels, and animals, or instead choose a cosy Santa and Mrs Claus with cheerful elves and reindeer. Alternatively, you could mix and match, creating a group of winter animals, nutcracker soldiers, carol singers, or angels. Because there are so many possibilities, no two sets will ever be alike, and every participant will leave with a handmade collection that reflects their own imagination.

The workshop begins with a short introduction and a chance to explore examples for inspiration. Then, with step-by-step guidance, you will start by painting simple base layers on your wooden figures. As the paint dries, you will gradually build up detail, adding faces, clothing, and festive touches. Later in the session, you will enhance your creations with ribbons, fabric, felt, or glitter, giving them an extra seasonal sparkle. Thanks to the relaxed pace and supportive teaching, even beginners will quickly feel confident.

By the end of the class, you will have a finished set ready to take home. Whether you choose to display your dolls as part of your Christmas decorations, gift them to a loved one, or begin a new family tradition of making and collecting wooden figures each year, your set will be a one-of-a-kind festive keepsake.

All workshops are beginner-friendly unless stated otherwise, and we provide all the materials you need. Adult sessions are for ages 16+, teen classes for ages 11–16, and family workshops for ages 7+ with an accompanying adult. Everything you create is yours to take home.
