Botanical Embroidery on Paper Workshop in Brighton

Combine the delicate beauty of botanical illustration with the relaxing art of hand embroidery in this unique mixed-media workshop.

Using flowers, leaves and botanical imagery as inspiration, you’ll create a beautiful stitched artwork on paper. Discover simple embroidery stitches that add texture, detail and depth to your designs. This transforms a flat image into something tactile and eye-catching.

Guided by your instructor, you’ll explore techniques for transferring designs and using embroidery thread to highlight petals, stems, leaves and decorative details. You and also combine drawing, collage or colour with stitching if desired. Whether you prefer a realistic botanical study or a more decorative floral design, you’ll have the freedom to create a piece that reflects your own style.

You’ll take home a finished botanical embroidery artwork ready to frame, display or give as a handmade gift.

This workshop is suitable for beginners and anyone who enjoys embroidery, drawing, paper crafts or botanical subjects. No previous stitching experience is required.

All materials are provided.
